Looking for a concise, meaningful, standards-based assessment for your third grade unit on Weather and Climate?  Look no further!  This short-answer assessment addresses all of the standards in the third grade “Weather and Climate” NGSS strand.  This assessment uses actual data from around the world as the starting point for students showing their analytical and interpretive skills.  This product also includes an accommodated assessment with sentence starters to provide support in writing.

You can build lessons and learning experiences around the types of questions in this assessment.  For example, you might select two other cities (one near the equator and one near a pole) and have students construct their own table with one week's worth of data.  Students can look online to find the weather data that they will analyze at the end of the week.
